  Take a look at the strike plate on the door frame. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws but make sure the plate is aligned with the bolt. Try closing the door. The bolt of the lock must go straight into the little hole of the strike plate! Do not forget to make sure that the door hinges are aligned properly as well.
